We specialize in mid-century modern furniture from the 1950s-1970s. While we occasionally work on pieces from other eras with similar construction methods, we don't typically restore antiques or contemporary furniture. Our expertise is particularly focused on iconic Danish and American mid-century designers.

Refinishing and repair projects generally take 4-6 weeks from drop-off to completion, while upholstery projects typically require 8-10 weeks. These timelines may extend during busy periods, which is why most upholstery projects are booked 3+ months in advance. We'll provide specific timeline estimates with your project quote.

We don't offer delivery services, but we can recommend local furniture movers who specialize in handling vintage pieces. All drop-offs and pickups happen at our Phinney Ridge workshop in Seattle by appointment only.

Pricing is based on the condition, size, materials, and complexity of each piece. Upholstery estimates include labor, fabric, foam, and any necessary hardware. Refinishing estimates account for the extent of repairs, the size of the piece, and the type of finish required.

Most restoration projects start at $1,500. Smaller repair-only projects may be priced at our hourly labor rate.

To reserve a place in our production schedule, we require a booking deposit equal to 15% of the estimated project total or $300, whichever is greater. This deposit is applied toward the project total. At drop-off or pickup, an additional payment is due to bring the total amount paid to 50%. The remaining balance is due when the work is complete, before the furniture is picked up or delivered.

Yes. Fabric selection is an important part of our upholstery process. We curate a personalized selection of samples based on the piece’s history and design, how and where it will be used, and your preferred colors and textures.

Most of the premium fabrics we source begin at approximately $100 per yard. We prioritize textile companies that limit PFAS and other potentially harmful chemicals in their manufacturing processes. Our preferred materials include wool, cotton, linen, mohair, velvet, leather, and carefully selected performance blends. We no longer offer vinyl upholstery.

We do not typically work with customer-supplied fabric. Exceptions may be made for design professionals with prior approval. All approved customer-supplied materials are subject to a cutting and inspection fee.

We prioritize methods that honor the original character of each piece while ensuring long-term durability. Depending on the piece and your preferences, we offer traditional lacquer finishes, hard wax oil finishes, or specialty finishing techniques. We focus on preserving original veneer whenever possible and use period-appropriate materials and techniques.
