Rescue Vintage Terms & Conditions
Estimates
Each vintage piece is unique. All estimates are based on the visible condition of the furniture at the time of inspection. Because hidden damage is often discovered during disassembly, estimates may change once work begins.
If structural issues or additional restoration needs are uncovered, Rescue Vintage will contact you with an updated estimate before proceeding. No additional work outside the original scope will be completed without your approval.
Estimates are valid for 90 days.
Scope of Work
Unless otherwise noted, estimates include the labor and standard materials necessary to complete the quoted scope of work.
Additional charges may apply for work outside the original estimate, including but not limited to:
Structural frame repairs
Spring repair or replacement
Padding or foam replacement beyond standard restoration
Wood repairs or refinishing
Biological remediation, odor removal, or deep cleaning
Pattern matching
Specialty upholstery techniques
Leather upholstery
Velvet, directional, or difficult-to-work-with fabrics
Additional client-requested changes after work has begun
Labor estimates and fabric yardage are based on plain, non-matched fabrics unless otherwise specified. Pattern matching, directional fabrics, large repeats, and certain specialty materials may require additional labor and fabric.
Customer-Supplied Fabric (COM)
Customers are welcome to provide their own upholstery fabric with prior approval. A $25 per yard cutting and inspection fee will apply.
Rescue Vintage cannot guarantee the quality, durability, suitability, or manufacturer defects of customer-supplied materials. If additional labor or materials are required because of the characteristics of the supplied fabric, including knit backing, preshrinking, or replacement, those costs will be billed separately.
Fabric and leather purchased through Rescue Vintage are invoiced separately and payment is due upon receipt.
Deposits & Payment Schedule
Non-refundable Booking Retainer: 15% of the estimated project total ($300 minimum), credited toward your final project payment, and due at booking to reserve your production slot.
Project Start Payment: Due when the project enters the studio, bringing the total paid to approximately 50% of the project cost.
Final Payment: Due upon completion and receipt of the final invoice, regardless of pickup date.
Invoices not paid within seven (7) days may be subject to a 10% late fee plus additional monthly finance charges as permitted by law.
Scheduling & Lead Times
Lead times are estimates only and are subject to change based on project complexity, supplier availability, shipping delays, unforeseen repairs, and current workload.
Projects requiring client approval for fabrics, finishes, repair decisions, or design changes may be delayed until approval is received.
Rush projects may be accepted when scheduling permits and are subject to an additional rush fee.
Storage
Completed projects should be picked up within five (5) business days of notification.
Projects remaining beyond that period may incur storage fees.
Furniture delivered significantly before its scheduled production date may also be subject to storage charges.
Furniture or materials left unclaimed for more than ninety (90) days after completion, without prior written arrangements, may be considered abandoned and become the property of Rescue Vintage.
Consultations
Consultations, in-home visits, and site visits are billed at our current hourly rate.
Delivery
Pickup and delivery services are available for an additional fee based on location, project size, and scheduling.
Vintage Furniture
Rescue Vintage specializes in preserving and restoring vintage furniture.
Because these pieces have lived long lives, small imperfections, evidence of previous repairs, age-related wear, wood movement, patina, and natural variations are considered part of their character and history rather than defects.
Every effort is made to preserve the integrity and craftsmanship of each piece while respecting its original design.
Wood & Finish Matching
When refinishing or repairing wood furniture, Rescue Vintage will make every reasonable effort to achieve the closest possible match to existing finishes.
Because wood naturally varies in color, grain, age, oxidation, and previous finishing methods, exact color or finish matching cannot be guaranteed.
Photography
Rescue Vintage may photograph projects before, during, and after restoration for documentation, portfolio, website, and marketing purposes unless otherwise requested in writing by the client.
Acceptance
Payment of the required deposit constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
