Handmade Teak & Walnut Lamp
Matt handmade each lamp. We don’t own power tools other than a drill and a sander, so that means he hand-cut, sanded, repurposed, and shaped each piece.
- The body of each lamp is made from salvaged teak, repurposed from broken chairs that our awesome friends @tirtofurniture gave us. Matt had to take each chair apart, then cut and form each piece into a shape that made sense for the lamps.
- The shades are vintage walnut bowls - found in thrift stores in need of repair and refinishing, and repurposed into lamp shades.
- The wooden knobs at the joints are scraps of wood that Matt shaped by hand.
- Each joint articulates, so you can adjust to the setting and height that works for your space.
- We chose low wattage bulbs to give a warm glow - we’ve used these in our home and they provide a really lovely ambient light. You can totally swap it out for a higher wattage bulb, though, if you want brighter light.
Part of a limited series - #2 and #3 of 4 made.
Each lamp is approximately 14”W x 16”D x 31”H
